Sue Moxley

Sue Moxley began her career in front of the camera, spending nine years as a photographic model on advertising campaigns across Japan, Spain and the Netherlands. Working beside the best makeup artists in the business led her to cross to the other side of the lens, and over some twenty years as a makeup artist she worked on photographic shoots and television commercials and made up many of the world’s best-known faces.

Her expertise took her to one of the most influential roles in British beauty journalism, Beauty Editor of The Sun. She has since written for Netmums, The Huffington Post, Essex Life, Menopause Life and Choice, and her Netmums beauty videos have reached millions of women.

In November 2007 she launched Famous by Sue Moxley with business partner Cheryl Carter, a makeup range sold nationwide in Superdrug. Her Pro Tools line continues through her own website and Amazon.

On television she co-hosted the makeover series So Would You Dump Me Now? with Lizzie Cundy and has presented on QVC and Ideal World.

A lifelong interest in anti-ageing drew her into aesthetics, and she now runs clinics in Essex and Norfolk. After a difficult menopause of her own, she trained as a menopause expert, hosted The Menopause Show on Women’s Radio Station and co-founded the Harley Street Menopause Midlife Clinic.

As co-founder and Editor in Chief of Elysium, she brings that whole career to the magazine’s coverage of beauty, health and midlife.

Sue lives in Essex with her husband, 80s pop star turned politician David Van Day, whom she married in Orsett in February 2010. The couple share a love of performing: they formed their singing duo and perform at venues and private parties. They both have a deep love of dogs and have four, including rescues brought home from as far as Romania.
