Choose the right room

Depending on what treatments you want to indulge in, the bedroom or the bathroom are the best choices for a home spa. The bathroom because it’s easy to clean, but also the bedroom is a great choice as you can light candles and lay on your bed and if you are feeling really relaxed drift off into a peaceful sleep
LIGHT SCENTED CANDLES
When you walk into a spa it always smells delicious with just enough scent in the air, so your nose knows it’s time to relax. Scented candles also create a nice atmosphere, allowing for soft lighting instead of blaring harsh lights
Perfect aromas for a spa day include lavender, chamomile, rose, sandalwood and ylang ylang if you don’t have any compromise with a room spray, pillow spray or perfume

CHOOSE YOUR MUSIC
Background music is important, silence can mean your brain fills with cluttered thoughts , but you don’t want anything overpowering ! on you tube you can find pan pipes or flute music which is just perfect.
BEFORE YOU START
To keep the room you are using as peaceful as possible begin with a herbal tea or a glass of champagne in a different room
Sit for half an hour with no phone or TV noise and begin to relax and release.
FACIAL STEAM

A facial steam is great for opening your pores and getting prepped for the rest of the treatments you are going to spoil yourself with! If you have a steamer use that, but if not a kitchen bowl with some boiled water will suffice, wait for it to cool for a few minutes, if you have essential oils add a few drops, if not tear open a herbal tea bag ! Lemongrass, lemon and ginger or rose are good examples. Lay a towel over your head and breathe deeply and slowly for around ten minutes.
FACE MASK
You could buy yourself a sachet mask there are many to choose from ! Or whisk some egg whites with a squeeze of lemon and brush on with a clean makeup brush this is good for removing dirt and blackheads and tightening the skin, leave for 20 mins to dry and rinse off with a warm face flannel.
Banana mashed and applied to the skin will give you a glow, ease redness and rehydrate. It also helps spot reduction.

HAIR MASK
Hair treatments may be more common in a hairdressers than a spa but adding a hair mask while you are waiting for your skin to dry maximises your time and will help your hair feel glossy and nourished. You can use a ready made hair mask or leave conditioner on for 30 mins or even comb some olive oil through your hair and leave for 30 mins.
Make sure you wash out thoroughly.

BATH
The home equivalent of a jacuzzi, soak in the bath, add some Epsom salts to ease muscles and calm your nerves add some lavender oil for deep relaxation some candles around the bath and soak in hot but not boiling water.
