As we age, especially during perimenopause and menopause, many of us notice our eyebrows becoming sparser, lighter, or more uneven. Years of tweezing or waxing can play a role, but hormones also have a powerful effect. If your brows are looking a little lacklustre lately, don’t worry, there are plenty of ways to restore definition and fullness.
Understanding Why Brows Thin
Reduced hormone levels (like prostaglandin) slow down brow growth.
Grey or lighter hairs appear as natural pigment fades.
Thinner, finer brows are a common sign of ageing.
Encouraging Brow Regrowth
Eyebrow hair regrows in cycles, which slow over time. A full cycle can take up to 8 weeks or more with age.

I have suggested some amazing Brow Serums below but if money is a factor invest in Fushi Organic Castor oil, its been proven to have wonderful results including speeding up growth and thickness of the brow hair apply to brows before bed.

Taming and Defining Your Eyebrows
Learn how to shape your eyebrows with tweezers in my video for Netmums below.
Grey, coarse hairs are normal with age. Grey brow hair can become wiry and curly making brows difficult to tame into a good shape, even normal brows need looking after with regular grooming, plucking and trimming. If necessary keep your brows tidy and defined with these tools:
Essential Tools for Eyebrows

Rubis Professional Tweezers are amazing and make plucking so much easier for anyone anxious about plucking from £20 from Amazon
Braun have a mini facial hair remover £ 16.99 Boots or Amazon, which you can just pop in your bag. It is better to pluck , but if its really not your thing this is amazing for a quick tidy up: shaving is fine and no it doesn’t make hair grow back thicker and coarser but it will grow back quicker than plucking or waxing.

Pro Advice:
Consider a professional wax shape and Tint in a salon. It not usually more than £15 in most salons. At home waxing is an option but can be a disaster if you are not competent !
Choose a brow tint one shade darker than your hair colour for natural contrast.
Brow Tinting Made Easy
If you fancy having a go yourself, give it a try. You will soon get the hang of it. If you are needing some colour and definition there are plenty of brow tinting kits out there.
Avoid dark harsh colours unless you have really dark brows naturally. Use soft browns and dark blondes if you are fair and medium if you have medium skin and are a brunette .
Eylure London’s dybrow is an affordable tint kit but very good, available in Boots, Superdrug and Amazon around £8
Use a professional kit for longer lasting results, like Salon System lash and brow tint kit £25

Handy tip ! If the brows are a bit too dark to start with washing them with Head and Shoulders shampoo or a dash of Fairy liquid this will lighten them quicker.
