What happens when aesthetics meets art?
Dr Iryna Stweart is one of a kind therapist who combines degrees in medicine and fine art.
Here she tells you how to have the best skin this season!
Meet the woman with the magic touch when it comes to all things skin and looking good. Dr Iryna Stewart is not just a skincare expert. She is an aesthetic artist with a very unique background. Holding degrees in both medicine and fine art, she combines scientific precision with an artist’s eye to create naturally flawless results that never reveal a trace of work done. Her philosophy is simple yet powerful: beauty should look effortless!
It is this distinctive, tailor-made approach to anti-ageing and skin rejuvenation that has a busy queue at her London door with clients including EastEnders star Nicola Duffeett and beauty expert and writer Steven Smith booking months in advance to see her, so she is the perfect person to ask, we should be looking after our skin now that the temperature has taken a dip.
She told me:
‘I see every client as a blank canvas and my goal is to enhance their natural beauty which means helping them to look refreshed, confident but still be completely themselves!’
As well as a range of treatments including this season’s must-have Hydrofacial Therapy and Plasma Facial at her Aesthetic Art Clinic, Iryna and her team use a new multi-award-winning skin care range from the Ukraine, Resenss, a holistic-based natural skin care range that delivers salon-professional results.
Here are her top tips for revitalising and protecting skin this winter.
7 ways to revitalise and protect your skin this winter
1. Moisturise the skin
Think about switching to a rich moisturiser for better hydration to protect against the elements. I like to recommend an amino-acid-enriched serum to wear underneath too, such as Resenss 3 Action Exosome Boost Serum, £49, which contains organic Sichuan pepper extract and a clever blend of collagen-boosting peptides to help strengthen and smooth skin.
2. Gentle clean
Like the feel of water on your skin? Look for gentle cleansers that emulsify in water but keep the skin’s barrier intact. I love the Resenss Clean Up Powder, £35, with betaine extract that helps to cleanse and refine the texture of the skin. You can double the cleansing benefits by using a facial cleansing brush that’ll help boost circulation, so skin looks more radiant.
3. Exfoliate once a week
Be sure to exfoliate once a week to buff away dead cells and allow better absorption of your moisturiser. The combination of colder temperatures and central heating can accelerate skin cell shedding, which is why it’s important to buff regularly to keep skin soft and glowing. Try the Resenss Clean Up Soft Hyaluronic Gommage, £31, perfect for improving the texture and tone of skin with nourishing vitamin E and gently skin buffing silk fibres to refine skin surface.
4. Energy boost for the skin
If your skin needs an energising boost, try the Resenss Brightening Peel HPA, £36. This clever peel has a melanin inhibitor extract that reduces and reverses pigmentation and age spots, helping to even out skin tone and preserve the skin barrier for natural radiance. With no downtime, it’s suitable for even sensitive skin.

5. Stay hydrated
If cold water doesn’t appeal in winter, add lemon and lime slices to warm water or sip herbal tea. Your skin will thank you!
6. Always wear a good SPF and lip balm
A winter sun can be just as intense, which is why an SPF30 is important all year round. Make sure lips stay supple using a good lip balm, too.
7. Get out in the fresh air!
There’s nothing like a good walk to help boost circulation to the skin, sending a rush of nutrients that’ll help bring about a natural glow!
