New Docuseries with dr Louise Newson
A four-part docuseries has just landed on Apple TV, which delves deep into the world of perimenopause and menopause. I think this is a great move forward in the world of women’s health!
The once taboo subject has definitely reared its head in recent years with a massive upturn in treatments, information, hormone therapies, optional therapies, books, leaflets, and new products hitting the shelves.
Even business owners now have to learn about menopause and are asked to make exceptions in the workplace if necessary!
A Much-Needed Shift in Awareness of Menopause
Doctors in the UK had little training in menopause; only a few hours over many years of study were spent on women’s wellness.
It feels good to say this is changing, and the last few years, Menopause has definitely become a word we are all familiar with. Doctors are more knowledgeable, menopause clinics are popping up on the NHS, and much more information is available. To have a TV show dedicated to the subject is a great bonus!
BALANCE: A perimenopause journey, features many stories of women’s journeys and many experts advising on therapies.
Dr Louise Newson, our UK doctor and expert hormone specialist, features in the show and had this to say about it:

BALANCE is such an impactful and much-needed documentary that I’m honoured to be a part of. It’s so exciting, but I also feel frustrated that there are still millions of women globally who are not being listened to and still aren’t able to access hormones, which improve both symptoms and future health, which this docuseries highlights. The health system is failing so many women, and there’s so much we need to do. I know this series is going to make a huge impact on both women and men.
