A mural of a woman's face with striking yellow-green eyes and red lips, fragmented by bold, colorful geometric shapes and cracks in the wall—a true Wonderwall for your home, blending realism with abstract art in vivid reds, blues, and yellows.

 And after all… you’re my Wonder… WALL…

Come on, be honest, we’ve all done it. Stood there, staring at those blank, lifeless walls, silently willing inspiration to strike. As if, at any moment, the magnolia might whisper, “Here’s your personality, hang it here.”

Thankfully, wall art, as it’s now affectionately known, has had a bit of a glow-up. We’ve moved well beyond the era of proudly pinning up that reproduction print you won at prize bingo (a cultural artefact in its own right, to be fair), or defaulting to the mass-produced canvas from that certain Scandinavian superstore, you know the one, that somehow ends up in every third living room on the street.

And as for the wallpaper/border combo? Let’s just say… some of us are still healing.

The truth is, the feature wall has evolved dramatically over the years. Whether you’re a hands-on DIY enthusiast ready to take on a panelling project, or simply looking for a statement look without the heavy lifting, there’s now an option to suit every style and skill level.

Let’s take a look….

Flower power…

One word: dreamy! Don’t be put off by memories of feature walls from the past; this mural takes any room to a whole new level.

Modern bedroom with a dramatic Wonderwall floral mural of large white and pink peonies behind a light gray bed. Green velvet chairs, wooden nightstands with vases, a pendant lamp, and a walk-in closet complete the space filled with natural light.

A decorative wall with vertical black slats, known as a Wonderwall, partially covers vibrant tropical wallpaper featuring flamingos, zebra, lush green leaves, and plants. A large artificial leaf and a bright pink cushion sit in the image

Jungle boogie…

I’ve been so used to seeing generic acoustic wall panels that when I came across these, I was genuinely excited. Teamed against dark, moody walls, these make a huge statement.

Paper panelling…

This product is designed to be fuss-free and easy to install yourself. Each roll comes in six easy-to-hang strips, making it ideal if, like me, you’re a wallpaper novice.

A light wood desk with three drawers and organizer shelves sits on white flooring. A gray upholstered chair is in front. On the desk are a round clock, books, and a pen holder. The wall behind features a Wonderwall-inspired geometric pattern.

A blue peacock wall sculpture with a raised crest and detailed feathers is mounted on a dark Wonderwall. Part of the bird’s neck and body protrude outward. Framed minimalist black and white line art is partially visible beside the sculpture.

Proud as a peacock…

Not quite ready to go all in? Just one striking feature can wake up even the dullest of walls, although I would recommend this little stunner for a smaller wall space.

Fun and games…

I haven’t seen anything like this, and even though my kids are all grown up, I’m seriously tempted. I love the idea of having a super stylish feature that you can have fun with.

A Wonderwall tic-tac-toe board with black X and O pieces sits above a dark cushioned bench in a modern room. Sunlight pours through the window, illuminating a potted plant on the sill and a wooden table in the foreground.

City scapes…

Aimed for kids, although, honestly, I’d be just as happy to have this in a bathroom or downstairs cloakroom.

Bright nursery with a round white crib, pastel linens, and plush toys. A colorful Wonderwall cityscape mural covers the wall. Room includes a plant, wicker basket, armchair, and shelves lit by a large window with striped roman shades.

Hack the trend…

A minimalist living space features a striking Wonderwall of six rectangular wooden frames arranged symmetrically above a low wooden coffee table. The table displays a bowl and red beads, while an open book rests invitingly on the carpet nearby.

Panelling is a huge trend that seems to be here to stay. These pre-cut sets make it much easier to install and paint as desired.

Clocking off…

Who doesn’t love a huge oversized clock? A staple in most homes, but when supersized, it can fill a bland wall with minimal effort. Practical. Simple. Stylish.

A round, open-frame Wonderwall clock with large Roman numerals in a weathered, light blue finish. It features three thin hands—hour, minute, and a long second hand—set against a white background, showing the time as approximately 1:57:30.

On trend tiles….

A wall covered in green herringbone-patterned tiles from Wonderwall is shown with reflections of light. A gold-framed mirror and a cylindrical wall sconce with gold accents are mounted on the wall. White flowers in a vase are visible at the bottom of the image.

Tiling has always been a nemesis in DIY, fiddly, messy, and time-consuming, but once it’s done, it really does look spectacular. I love the herringbone style, and the colour is glorious.

Art to invest in…

I love this artist – he hasn’t created a piece I don’t adore. This one has been on my wish list for ages. Another perfect option for anyone wanting a standout piece with minimal effort.

Framed artwork creates a Wonderwall on a dark backdrop, featuring a pink and white rectangle with the Nike logo, “Long Lunch,” and “Just Do It,” surrounded by colorful dots. Below sits a shelf with a radio, brown vase, and stacked decorative pieces.

Simple yet stylish

Modern living room wall art by Wonderwall features overlapping geometric circles in teal, gold, and orange with metallic finishes. Against a white paneled wall, a beige sectional sofa with green and brown cushions sits below a small coffee table.

There’s so much metal wall art around, and it’s great to have such a wide choice. I love this piece; it has real mid-century modern vibes, which I’m always drawn to.

All things bold and beautiful….

European Style Luxury Wall Hanging Carved Gold Artificial Flowers in Vase

Over the top? Yes, but why not? It’s unapologetically bold, even a little gauche, but in the right room, it completely works.

A decorative Wonderwall vase with ornate gold detailing and two bird figures holds a lush bouquet of pink and peach roses. The vase is mounted above a black fireplace in a modern room with light walls and wooden chairs.

Make a splash…

That awkward space behind your cooker deserves some attention, too. Splashbacks have historically been quite plain, but they’re a great opportunity to introduce colour and personality. You can even design your own for a more bespoke finish.

A modern kitchen features a teal cabinet, wooden countertop, stove, and a Wonderwall backsplash with a peacock displaying vibrant feathers. Olive oil bottles, potted herb, and lemons sit on the counter beneath a stainless steel range hood.

A pair of elegant high-heeled shoes with pointed toes, covered in shiny red fabric and intricate multicolored floral and paisley patterns, sits on a dark wooden floor—perfect for embracing your style through menopause with natural management.
