As a Menopause Coach and Counsellor, one of the most common questions I get asked is:
“Is there anything natural that can actually help me lose weight during menopause?”
The short answer? Yes.
But it requires more than just cutting calories or jumping on the latest fad.
Like many of my clients, I struggled with this question myself. Last year, I set myself a challenge, not just for my clients, but for me.
I wanted to develop a natural, plant-based product to support weight loss during menopause. I began working on a formulation, but I knew I had to be my own first test case.
If it didn’t work for me, how could I recommend it with integrity?
So four months ago, I began using the formula consistently. A few weeks in, I made another decision, one I always encourage my clients to consider. Movement. I joined a local gym and started small, building a routine around Pilates, light weights, and aqua aerobics. These gentle, strength-bearing exercises help preserve muscle mass, boost metabolism, and support bone health, all vital during menopause.
This wasn’t easy. At the time, I was wearing a UK size 26. Walking into a gym can feel intimidating at any size, but especially when you’re just starting out.
Thankfully, the women in those classes welcomed me with warmth and encouragement.
I’ll never forget my first step class. Halfway through, I honestly thought I was going to have a heart attack! I couldn’t keep up with the moves, so I made up my own. I must have looked like I was doing freestyle jazz in a step aerobics session, but the other women just smiled and said, “See you next week?” That kindness kept me going.
Now, just four months later, I’m slipping into a size 20.

And no — I haven’t starved myself. I’m a foodie through and through. I believe in nourishment, not restriction.
This journey isn’t just about the weight. It’s about reclaiming my energy, confidence, and health — on my terms.
Menopause is not the end.
It’s a new chapter, one where we can rewrite the rules around our bodies and what’s possible.
If you’re struggling with weight during menopause, know this: there is hope.
Find what works for you. Be patient with your body.
Never underestimate the power of small, consistent changes backed by support, self-love, and a little science.
I’ll continue to share my progress as I go — we’re in this together.
