Attracting the Right Energy: Letting the Right People In…and Letting Others Go

In a world that moves at lightning speed and constantly pulls us in different directions, one of the most powerful acts of self-love is being intentional about who we allow into our lives. It’s not just about romantic partnerships—it’s about friendships, colleagues, and even acquaintances. The energy we surround ourselves with directly shapes the quality of our lives, our wellbeing, and our ability to thrive.

As a medium, I’m often asked, “How do I attract the right people?” My answer is always the same: it starts with the energy you hold within.

Your Energy Is a Magnet

We are all energetic beings. Whether we realise it or not, our thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and intentions create a frequency. Like attracts like. If you’re stuck in cycles of self-doubt, people-pleasing, or unresolved emotional wounds, you may find yourself attracting connections that reflect those inner states.

But the moment you begin to honour your truth, to see yourself as worthy of genuine, soul-nourishing relationships, the dynamic shifts. You stop chasing and start attracting. You stop settling and start choosing.

Don’t Be Afraid to Let Go

One of the hardest spiritual lessons we face is learning that not everyone is meant to stay. Sometimes, we hold onto relationships simply because of shared history, family ties, or guilt. But if a connection consistently leaves you drained, anxious, or questioning your worth—it may be time to lovingly release it.

Letting go isn’t about bitterness or blame. It’s an act of deep compassion—for yourself and for them. When we let go, we create space for the right people to arrive. Energetically, it’s like decluttering your home; once the unnecessary is removed, the light flows in.

Signs You’re Attracting the Right People

You’ll know you’re aligning with the right energy when:

•  Conversations feel uplifting and easeful.

•  You feel safe being your authentic self—no masks required.

•  There’s mutual respect and support, not just surface-level connection.

•  You leave time with them feeling energised, not depleted.

•  There’s no pressure to perform, prove, or chase.

These kinds of relationships are healing. They don’t demand more than you have to give, and they naturally encourage your growth. Sometimes they arrive quietly, after years of spiritual groundwork. Other times, they show up the moment you decide you’re no longer available for anything less.

How to Attract Soul-Aligned Relationships

Here are a few ways to begin attracting the right energy into your life:

1. Be Clear on What You Desire

Get honest with yourself. What does a soul-nourishing friendship or relationship feel like to you? What values are non-negotiable? Clarity sets the tone. Write it down. Say it aloud. The universe listens when we’re intentional.

2. Heal the Old Patterns

Do you find yourself repeating the same dynamics over and over? Maybe you’re always the fixer, the giver, or the one who gets ghosted. These patterns often stem from old wounds. Healing them—through inner work, therapy, or spiritual practices—changes the kind of people you attract.

3. Protect Your Energy

Not everyone deserves access to your inner world. Set boundaries. Learn to say no. Know that saying “no” to what no longer serves you is saying “yes” to what does.

4. Raise Your Vibration

You don’t have to be perfect to attract healthy connections, but the more you nurture your own joy, peace, and authenticity, the more magnetic you become. Do things that make you feel alive—walk in nature, dance, meditate, laugh with people who truly see you.

5. Trust Divine Timing

Some of the most beautiful friendships and relationships appear when you least expect them—often when you’ve stopped searching and simply started being. Trust that the universe will align you with the right souls at the right time.

A Note on Outgrowing People

Outgrowing people doesn’t mean you’ve failed. It means you’re evolving. As your vibration rises, not everyone will rise with you—and that’s okay. Sometimes, souls travel together for only part of the journey. Let that be enough.

If a friendship or relationship no longer resonates, it’s not an indictment of your past, but a sign of your growth. You can release people with love, gratitude, and grace. Some doors close not because of rejection, but because your spirit knows it’s time to move forward.

The Company You Keep Shapes You

Your energy is precious. Protect it. Honour it. Surround yourself with people who remind you who you are—not who you were, not who they want you to be, but who your soul came here to become.

When you start showing up for yourself in this way, your entire world begins to shift. You’ll begin to attract friendships that feel like home, relationships that feel like deep exhalations, and connections that mirror the love and light you hold within.

And if you’re still in the in-between—that tender space of letting go and waiting for what’s next—trust this: the right people are already on their way to you. Keep being you. Keep shining. Keep choosing energy that feels like peace.

The rest will unfold, beautifully and in perfect time.
